Sometimes, it can be easy to make life into a race in which we really want to achieve or be something.
Internally however, we all know that the learning is done in the amount of time it takes to finally get where you want to be. There is no lesson learned when everything comes easy to you. Imagine wanting to ace an exam and acing it just because you willed it, or wanting to own a gadget like an iPad or flashy smartphone and it appeared within seconds of you wanting it. What are you learning from that? Really?
The answer is, not much. You’d only feel smarter and somehow superior to other people, but you won’t be hardworking, honest, tolerant or patient. Not at all.
What’s cool is working hard or waiting for your time to come. It sounds like a cliché but patience is a virtue and Rome wasn’t built in one day (finally I’ve used that phrase, GET IN!). Having patience and hope that one day things will go your way and what you want and/or need will happen can go a long way in helping us reach our destinations, dreams and goals. Pushing for it to happen when you just need to relax and wasting energy fretting over something that seems impossible now won’t do you any good at all.
It’s okay to feel like everything is against you, just don’t let it take over you. The true winner in life is the person who endures and then achieves greatness. Be that person!
